Nsyilxcen
These programs are open to all students within the respective Nsyilxcen communities who wish to enhance their knowledge of Indigenous language. The certificate program duration is year-long, with an option to continue on to the second-year diploma.
A certificate is awarded upon completion of the one-year course. The certificate program requires 33 credits (see below) and students will be required to maintain an overall minimum GPA of 2.33 is required.
Admission Eligibility Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent or mature student status
- English Studies 12 or English First peoples 12 or English 12 or English 060
- A letter of intent detailing reasons why one is interested in the program

- NSYL-121 – Nsyilxcen Everyday Action and Interaction (previous NSYL 150)
- NSYL-122 – Nsyilxcen Vocabulary in Place and Socio-Spatial Context I (previous NSYL 255)
- NSYL-130 – Nsyilxcen Entry Tools: Introduction to Full Immersion (previous NSYL 152)
- NSYL-131 – Special Topics – Nsyilxcen Immersion (previous NSYL 151 or INST 192)

Diploma Courses
In addition to the successful completion of the Nsyilxcen Language Fluency certificate, students will be required to take the courses below to complete a total of 66 credits to obtain the diploma. As with the certificate requirement, students must maintain an overall minimum GPA of 2.33.
